THINGS TO DO ON PHI PHI
PUB CRAWL Tin Tins and Carlitos Bar on Phi Phi Island are the
closest thing to a party pub but again its pretty easy
VIEW POINT To see the classic view of Phi Phi Island follow
the path behind Tonsai Village and ask for the View
Point. The path is very good, and it will take between
25 and 55 minutes. At sunrise many people unable to
make the hike up to view point in the morning go the
beach in front of the Beach Club to watch the sun
spill onto the cliffs at dawn
Check out the shops where staff have been trained at
Wat Po (Center for Thai Massage in Bangkok). Massage
can be dangerous, so please take care that the person
attending you really does know what they are doing
otherwise you could land up with more aches and pains
than you started out with.
SNORKELING, SCUBA DIVING and
TRIPS Phi Phi Islands have some of the more
popular dive spots a short boat ride away or simply
jump into the water with a pair of goggles on, paddle
out a short way and below you, in the emerald waters
you'll see a marine wonderland. On the other hand if
you'd rather catch the fish, Phi Phi has a number of
charter companies catering to this sport.
BOXING 3 times a week the Reggae Bar
complex has live real Thai Boxing. These Bangkok
professionals have a training camps on Phi Phi Island.
Friday night the purse is real and so is the fight.
They get some big national names in the high season.
Fight night is big and so are the crowds
HAIR BRAIDING Very popular amongst the younger
crowd. Good value.
SNOOKER The snooker hall next to Tintin's bar and Club has
6 full size tables, 80 Baht an hour.
COCK FIGHTING and
FIGHTING The local Muslims love to gamble
and Cock Fighting and Fish Fighting can be seen every
now and again.
FOOTBALL About 3 times a year Phi Phi hosts a football
tournament, island style. About 15 teams fight it out
over 10 days of serious competition.
